QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:
a) Direct Recruitment: Applicants applying under direct recruitment must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Law awarded by any University established by Law in India.
b) Recruitment by Transfer: Applicants applying under Recruitment by Transfer must possess a Degree in Law awarded by any University established by Law in India and must be a confirmed member or approved probationer in any one of the specified categories.
The pay scale for the Civil Judge (Junior Division) post is between Rs. 77,840 and Rs. 1,36,520, providing a lucrative career path for the selected candidates.

● Section Officers, Court Officers, Scrutiny Officers, Accounts Officer, Court Masters, Personal Secretaries to Hon'ble Judges, Personal Secretaries to Registrars, Translators, Deputy Section Officers, Overseer, Assistant Section Officers, Computer Operators, Assistant Librarian, U.D. Stenos, Assistants, Readers, Examiners, Telex Operator, Telephone Operator, Typists, and Copyists of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.
● Chief Administrative Officers, Senior Superintendents, Superintendents, Stenographers Grade I, II & III, Senior Assistants, Junior Assistants, and Typists of the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Ministerial and Subordinate Service Rules, 2019.
● Assistant Public Prosecutors, Senior Assistant Public Prosecutors, Additional Public Prosecutors Grade II of Prosecution Services of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
● Section Officers in the Law Department of Secretariat of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
● Section Officers in the Legislature Department of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
● Managers of the Offices of the Advocate General; Government Pleaders and Public Prosecutors, Editor, I.L.R. of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
APPLICANTS WILL BE DEEMED INELIGIBLE FOR APPOINTMENT IF THEY:
● Are not citizens of India.
● Do not have good character or are not free from infirmities that render them unfit for appointment.
● Have been dismissed from service by any High Court, Government, or Local Authority.
● Have been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude.
● Have been permanently debarred or disqualified by any recruiting authority.
● Attempt to influence the Recruiting Authority.
● Are not of sound health and active habits.
● Have more than one living spouse.
● As women, knowingly marry a person with a living wife.
● Have been arrested in connection with a crime involving moral turpitude.

AGE LIMIT:
For Direct Recruitment:
● Applicants should not be over 35 years old as of 01.02.2025. However, there are age relaxations:
o 5 years for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
o 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities.
o The period of service in the defense services will be excluded for those who served in the defense services of the Indian Union.
For Recruitment by Transfer:
● Applicants should not be over 48 years old as of 01.02.2025.
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION: THE SELECTION PROCESS INCLUDES:
a) Screening Test:
● Computer Based Test for 100 marks with 100 multiple-choice questions.
● Duration: 2 hours.
● Applicants scoring 40% and above will be shortlisted in a 1:10 ratio for the written examination.
● Marks from the screening test will not count toward the final merit list.
b) Written Examination:
● Three papers, each carrying 100 marks with a duration of 3 hours each.
● Questions to be answered in English (except for the translation test).
o Paper-I: Civil Laws
o Paper-II: Criminal Laws
o Paper-III: English Translation Test (25 marks) and Essay Writing Test (75 marks).
MINIMUM MARKS FOR ELIGIBILITY FOR VIVA VOCE:
For Direct Recruitment:
● Open Competition/EWS: 55% in each paper and 60% overall.
● Backward Classes: 50% in each paper and 55% overall.
● SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 45% in each paper and 50% overall.
For Recruitment by Transfer:
● Open Competition/Backward Classes: 55% in each paper and 60% overall.
● SC/ST: 45% in each paper and 50% overall.
Viva Voce:
● Carries 50 marks.
● Candidates absent from the Viva Voce will be disqualified.
Merit List:
● Qualified candidates in the ratio of 1:3 of the available vacancies will be called for Viva Voce.
● Candidates with identical cut-off marks will all be invited for Viva Voce.
Minimum Aggregate Marks for Final Selection:
● BC category candidates under direct recruitment: 55% aggregate.

APPLICATION AND EXAMINATION FEE
